hi everyone, sorry for the delay in photos but i've just been sent out to iraq, puts a bit of a damper on things. i hope you'll hang around untill feb when i should be able to get some on.

Hi all. This is my first chance to get on the internet and put up a new post since we left. What an experience, to say the least. Not only did we complete this monumental task we were also the first ralliers to reach UB. It's not a race but we won, ha ha ha!!!
We saw so many amazing things to list them all would take forever. I will however put up some photos that show some of the wonderful things we saw along with some entertaining stories.
I have to thank everybody for their support and donations. This has cost me, personally, so much money if i had to fork out for the sponsorship money as well i probably wouldn't have been able to go.

Having spoken to the 2nd in command of our workshop, we have discovered that to travel through loads of different countries we have to have special permission because we are in the Army. Being the hardworking professional officer that he is, Captain Steptoe was quick to help us and immediately jumped on the phone (not literally). He has been ringing round all manner of people and has found the answer and is getting it all sorted for us. So this is just a quick message to say thanks for all his efforts.

Having had the Panda of love for a week or so we decided that she needed a real name, although Panda of love was quickly catching on! At first we were thinking about Poppy the Panda until someone pointed out that that stickers for the Lynx saying ARMY could be rearranged to spell MARY, and so she was named. Mary has already undergone some serious modifying work, during which Si brutally attacked her with a rivet gun. Never the less she still looks good and is ready for her next modifying session.

As you might have gathered, we desperately need sponsorship money. As yet we haven't started begging and scrounging from friends and relatives but it's definately coming soon. Our Beast

After browsing eBay for a few days we finally bought ourselves a spanking gorgeous Fiat Panda, already nick named the Panda of Love. We have set to it with spanners a plenty and "ripped" out the back seats already with a few more slight modifications to come, our favourite is our plan to mount a wheel on the bonnet for that ultimate off road look.

Who could imagine this thing being driven to Mongolia, probably only us then!

In Search of cars

Obviously if we are to drive from here to Mongolia we are going to need a car! Easier said than done when you need a reliable vehicle less than 1000cc for around £100. After viewingeBay for some time we have come up with a few options. These are either a:
Fiat Panda
Citroenn 2CV
Nissan Micra or
Old Mini.
We could maybe lower ourselves to a metro or meastro but we will be trying to avoid them. Any one with and ideas or cars for sale feel free to let me know.

Me and SI

Myself and Si are both 21 Year old Aircraft technicians from Taunton in Somerset. I know what you're thinking, Farmer Boys!! You couldn't be further from the truth. We're both "normal" 21 year olds. We've decided to take up this challenge cos we never normally do anything for charity and thought this would a good laugh. All encouragement and support will be greatly appreciated.
